Oconto Falls is a city in Oconto County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,891 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green BayMetropolitan Statistical Area.
With the Oconto River running through our small city, you can enjoy many recreational activities throughout the year. Summer activities include swimming, boating, skiing, and fishing on the river; biking and hiking along nature trails; golfing at a beautiful 9-hole golf course; softball and many other sports activities. Winter activities include snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and skating.
Many annual events are enjoyed throughout the year. The year starts out with an annual St. Anthony’s Annual Fishing Derby, followed by Memorial Weekend Celebrations to include a carnival and fireworks. Falls Fest is another fun-filled weekend of events to include Library book sale and City-wide rummage sales. During the year there are many annual fund-raising events and activities to attend. There is always something fun to do in our small city.
Oconto Falls Community Library offers a wide variety of education programs along with special events for the whole family. It is centrally located on Main Street and a proud member of the Nicolet Library system offering books, music, movies, and internet access.
HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital, previous known as Community Memorial Hospital, has been part of the community since 1921 and is a fully equipped hospital with a 24-hour emergency room.
A post office called Oconto Falls has been in operation since 1871.[4] The city was named for falls on the Oconto River.[5]
